One Job: Less Fuel Around Your Home
Prescott Fire Mitigation focuses on wildfire fuels work for homes in central Yavapai County. That means defensible space, thinning, brush and hazard trees, from the first walk of your property to the final check.

Why this work deserves its own company
Fire mitigation sits between trades. A landscaper thinks about how a yard looks, and a tree service thinks about one tree at a time. Neither necessarily thinks about how fire would move across your lot, from the grass to the brush to the deck. Homeowners get stuck coordinating it all, often with an insurance deadline in hand.
We look at the property the way the fire guidance does: in zones, from the walls outward. That way the work gets done in the order that matters, and you don't pay for clearing that won't change much.
How we work
- Walk it first. No pricing from photos alone. We see the slope, the plants and the access.
- Plain, written scopes. What gets cut, what stays, where the debris goes, what it costs.
- Local programs come first. We tell you about fire department assessments, grants and free chipping for homeowners, even when that means a smaller job for us.
- Sources over opinions. Our advice follows published guidance from the University of Arizona, local fire agencies and Firewise USA. We link to them so you can check.
- No scare tactics. Nobody can fireproof a property or promise what an insurer will do. We'll explain what the work can and can't do.
Check before you hire
You get one point of contact from start to finish. Depending on its scope, some vegetation work requires a contractor's license in Arizona and some counts as maintenance. You can check any contractor, on any bid, with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors search, and we encourage you to do so.
What we won't do
We won't tell you to clear what doesn't need clearing, and we won't take down a healthy tree just because it's easier. If a job is better left to your utility, your fire district or an arborist, we'll say so and point you there.
Who we work with
Most of our clients are homeowners who've had a wake-up call: a nearby fire, a neighbor's evacuation, or a letter from an insurer. We also work with HOA boards and Firewise committees that need written scopes for shared land, second-home owners who need someone local to manage the job, and families getting a house ready to sell.
What we know about this ground
Prescott's fire country is unusually varied. Ponderosa on granite behaves nothing like the grass around Chino Valley or the chaparral in Dewey-Humboldt. Monsoon erosion, bark beetles, thin soils and narrow drives all shape how a job should be done here. That's why each of our service area pages is about that place, including who its fire authority is and how its permits and burn rules work.
